General Manager- Admin & HR
We are looking for a seasoned GM of Admin and Human Resources to manage and lead the administrative and HR functions of our organization. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that our operations run smoothly, and that we attract, develop, and retain the best talent. This role will be responsible for overseeing all office and project administrative services, logistics and procurement, all office policies, employee relations, recruitment, training, performance management, and process development.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management & Administrative Oversight:
Manage administrative, procurement and logistics for the research projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with organizational goals.
Coordinate cross-departmental efforts to implement large-scale projects, organizational initiatives such as new HR systems, employee development programs, and administrative enhancements.
Track project’s administrative and logistic progress, manage risks, and communicate updates to leadership and stakeholders.
Supervise the administrative functions including facilities management, office procurement, and travel arrangements.
Ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the office by overseeing office management systems and procedures.
Lead initiatives to improve organizational efficiency, ensuring that administrative practices support organizational growth.
Liaise with external vendors and service providers for office maintenance, supplies, and services.
Compliance & Record Keeping:
Ensure the organization complies with labor laws, health and safety regulations, and other applicable standards.
Maintain up-to-date employee records, contracts, and administrative documents, ensuring data privacy and accuracy.
Manage payroll administration, benefits programs, and employee leave systems.
Human Resources Management:
Oversee the entire employee life cycle, from recruitment and onboarding to development, retention, and exit.
Develop and implement HR policies and procedures that reflect best practices and ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations.
Foster a positive organizational culture by implementing effective employee engagement, wellness, and diversity initiatives.
Handle employee relations, resolving conflicts and ensuring that workplace issues are managed fairly and efficiently.
Lead and assist the recruitment process, including job postings, interviewing, and selection to attract highly skilled professionals.
Develop strategies for professional growth, training, and development programs to enhance staff skills and performance.
Support managers in workforce planning, role definition, and staff assessments.
Process Development:
Design and implement departmental processes that improve efficiency, ensure consistency, and enhance overall administrative and HR effectiveness.
Continuously review and refine administrative and HR processes to adapt to organizational needs and changing external environments.
Policy Development:
Implement, and update HR and administrative policies, ensuring alignment with organizational values and objectives.
Support leadership in creating transparent policies that promote a safe, inclusive, and high-performing workplace.
Team Leadership:
Lead and manage the Admin and HR team, ensuring efficient delivery of services.
Provide coaching and guidance to team members, fostering an environment of continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Education:Bachelor’s degree in Management, Business Administration, HRM or related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
Experience: At least 5-7 years of experience in HR and administrative roles, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership position, preferably within the non-profit sector.
Skills:
Strong leadership skills and result oriented professional attitude.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.
Strong knowledge of HR policies, employment law, and best practices.
Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
