Rebecca Cai is a PhD student in Economics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Her research focuses on gender and development, using methods from labor and trade economics. She studies female labor force participation and institutional safeguards on working conditions. Previously, she was a Research Associate at Development Data Lab.analyzing large-scale data from India. She holds a double major in Human Rights and Economics. She studied at Columbia University and the University of Oxford, where she was an Oxbridge Scholar.
