Moogdho Mim Mahzab

Postdoctoral Scholar

Moogdho Mahzab is an Associate Research Fellow in the Poverty, Gender, and Inclusion Unit at the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) and currently serves as Acting Country Representative of IFPRI-Bangladesh. He is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Stanford Graduate School of Business and Stanford Woods Institute for the Environment, and holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Virginia. As a development economist, his research focuses on environmental health, public health, political economy of development, and international trade in developing countries, particularly in South Asia. Mahzab's research addresses critical issues affecting marginalized communities, including lead contamination from industrial relocation, labor trafficking, and child labor in manufacturing, healthcare access through community clinics, and the relationship between political governance and public goods provision. His work spans environmental pollution impacts, labor rights in informal industries, trade relationships between multinational corporations and local suppliers, and community-based healthcare interventions in Bangladesh and other developing countries.
