Arman Mahmud

Research Assistant

Arman Mahmud currently works as a Research Assistant at the ARCED Foundation. He has completed both an MS in Applied Statistics & Data Science and a BS in Applied Statistics from the Institute of Statistical Research and Training (ISRT), University of Dhaka. One of his notable research projects focused on utilizing Recurrent Neural Networks (RNN) and Vector Autoregressive (VAR) models for weather forecasting, with a comprehensive study conducted on the Rohingya camps and adjacent control areas. During his undergraduate studies, he conducted research on the determinants of inadequate supervision of children under five in Bangladesh. He is proficientn various statistical and programming tools, including STATA, R, SPSS, SQL, Python, and LaTeX. Arman has also been actively involved in co-curricular activities. He was recognized as the Champion of the Intra-Hall Public Speaking Competition and received awards for his performance in debate and sports. He served as a Sub Executive of the ISRT Students Club, participated in multiple university clubs, and contributed as a volunteer at DU research fairs and other events.
