Dr Sabuj Kanti Mistry

Dr Sabuj Kanti Mistry is an internationally recognised public health researcher with expertise in chronic disease prevention and management, healthy ageing, migrant and refugee health, and health equity. Awarded the prestigious Commonwealth Scholarship, he completed an MSc in Public Health with Distinction at the University of Bedfordshire, UK, before earning his PhD in Public Health and Community Medicine from the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Sydney, Australia. With more than a decade of research experience, Dr Mistry has secured approximately A$2 million in competitive research funding, including an NHMRC Global Alliance for Chronic Diseases grant, and has authored over 100 peer-reviewed publications, attracting more than 4,000 citations. His research has informed policies and programs developed by organisations including the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations (UN). Through international collaborations, research capacity-building initiatives, and community-engaged research, he is committed to advancing evidence-based policy and improving health outcomes for underserved and culturally diverse populations worldwide.
