Yeshim's work and study investigate the impact of social group membership on individuals' reactions to and understandings of violent events in both everyday life and the collective past. She also investigates the morality of implementing programs to improve mental health and decrease hostilities in different contexts. She earned her doctorate from New York University's Psychology and Social Intervention Program and her bachelor's degree in the same field from Cornell. Kaan Pete Roi is Bangladesh's first emotional support and suicide prevention helpline, and its development began during her time between undergraduate and graduate school at the Harvard Lab for Developmental Studies.
